My name is Michelle Tahu-McGrath and I am 55 years old. I was raised in a large whānau of two cultures by my father of Ngati Whatua descent, and my mother of English descent. I have a wonderful husband and four amazing young adult children. Like most mothers, you look after everyone else and put yourself last. Doing this glamour shoot is the first thing I have done for me.
My goal is to be a positive role model for my children, to be fearless, and to continually challenge myself to be the best I can be. I have always said to my children that when you believe in yourself, you can achieve whatever you want, and I need to take my own advice.
Having a glamour shoot was a challenge for me, and I am so glad that I did it. Annalise made me feel so welcome and special on the day, and Jeff made me feel so at ease during the photo shoot. The whole experience was so empowering and wonderful. It was a very emotional but empowering day which left me feeling stronger and more empowered.
My new motto is “Be fearless and do it now.”
