Don't judge a book by it's cover - Michelle

"DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER"

When I say this metaphorical phrase, I am positive I speak for every woman. It's not easy being a woman. We are faced with challenges every single day of our lives, but these challenges are what makes a stronger person.

I come from a mix of ethnicities. Fijian Indian, Nepalese, European and French. At the age of 3 I lost my Dad to leukemia. I got teased and called a "curry muncher" through my school years. I started being sexually abused once I hit puberty, and to get out of the situation, I married at a very young age and had two beautiful daughters who are now 18 and 20 years of age. Since then, I got divorced and ended up in an extremely toxic relationship with a narcissist which lead me to depression and being suicidal. Just as my life was getting back to normal, I ended up having two car accidents in the space of five months, making me feel dumb and worthless due to the bad concussion, which to date has kept me off work.

After all that, I still have not given up. I strongly believe what doesn't break us makes us stronger and makes us a better person. From it all, we learn, because it's not until we experience it ourselves, we will never understand and learn.

Yes at times we start to lose interest in ourselves, but it takes one one reason for us to get back on track, and Studio81 was that reason for me. I got to see myself through someone else's eyes and honestly couldn't recognize myself. Thank you team for giving me an amazing life time experience.
