What a treat it was to be pampered - Samantha

I've never had the confidence to make myself up, and never explored the options of having a modelling shoot. I've only once been to a professional makeup artist and that was the day of my wedding.

This year my dad passed away in England, and I couldn't go due to the Covid epidemic. My daughters, who live in South Africa, were supposed to come to New Zealand for Christmas, but once again, due to the epidemic there was no way they could come. I found the ad for the #LoveYourself campaign on Facebook and thought it would be a great way to lift my spirits.

I was fortunate enough to have booked in on my 54th birthday. What a treat it was to be pampered, and to be spoken with care and kindness. As photography is one of my hobbies, I found the whole photo shoot fun and interesting, as lighting and positioning were used to enhance the shot.

The other thing that I learnt was one the outfits I had chosen to wear, the colours really didn’t do anything for me, yet the rich colours really boosted the green of my eyes. It’s taken me 54 years to figure this out.

Then the truth, my photos were shown to me the same day, and Wow! It really showed my true essence. My favourite showed my soul - it it's quite amazing how with that one pose you could see my life through my eyes. I would really recommend this for anyone who needs that lift me up. You’ll be amazed how true you can be to You.
